Depending on your personal timescale you can either fly, or drive and take a ferry.

Flying

Easyjet flies from Gatwick to Olbia in season only. From May to late October there are daily flights.

This is the best route not only price wise, but the airport is only a 15 minute drive away. Olbia airport is south of the city, and the apartments are north.

Ryan Air flies from Stanstead to Alghero, all year round. In season from May to October there are two flights a day, from October to May there is one flight a day.

Alghero is a 1- 2 hour drive across the island.

There are also charter flights available from Birmingham and Stanstead from May to October flying once a week on a Saturday. Plus regional flights from Southampton, Manchester, East Midlands, Bristol and Luton.

Flight time is only 2 hours.

Drive and ferry

Alternatively, time permitting you can either drive through France, to Marseilles, and catch a ferry to Porto Torres on the north east tip of the island. Or drive through Italy, to one of the following ports Genova, Livorno or Civitavecchia (Rome). Ferries run daily, to either Olbia or Golfo Aranci.

This way you could combine a touring holiday, and a relaxing beach holiday.

In addition both Olbia and Alghero airports have daily, internal flights to Pisa, Milan, Venice, Naples and Rome.

Car Hire

We suggest that you hire a car to explore this amazing island. Cars can be either hired through the flight operators at time of booking, or when you arrive at the airport. Do not expect to be able to hire a car at time of arrival during July and August, always book in advance.

We tend to use www.travelsupermarket.com as they are keenly priced, and look around the different companies to get you the best deal.

Due to problems experienced with our guests this year, we advise that you do not book cars with Europcar.

Driving is relatively easy on the island, although many of the roads are very windy, but this generally keeps speeds down. You need to be more aware during July and August when the mainland Italians are holidaying on the island…. need we say more.
